What is Broadband ?

Broadband is a general term for the new faster method of connecting to the Internet. A broadband connection is 'always on', that means you don't have to wait ages for your computer to dial up and connect. It also doesn't tie up your phone line when you are surfing the net or sending emails.

Speeds range from 256kbits (5 x faster than a 56K modem) to 8Mbits at the present time.
